Pritt Ministry Services is a family-based home business. Therefore, to tell you about our business we must tell you about our family!
Vernon Pritt came to know the Lord during the Vietnam War while stationed in Japan. Several servicemen witnessed to him outside of Yokota Air Force Base and introduced him to a missionary from his own hometown, Johnstown, Pennsylvania. After attending services in a Quonset hut and spending time with this godly missionary family, Vernon received Christ as his personal Savior and Lord. While stationed in Thailand, he attended nightly Bible studies and became grounded in God's Word. After his term in the Air Force he enrolled at Bob Jones University, where he met Susan Poland (of Feasterville, Pennsylvania) due to an alphabetical-order seating arrangement in Advanced New Testament Survey class. They were married in August, 1969. After graduation Vernon served as principal and teacher in Christian schools in South Carolina and Pennsylvania for more than fifteen years, and helped to found and promote several Christian schools before entering the homeschool movement in 1990. The Pritts now live in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, and have six sons and four daughters and (so far!) four grandchildren. All of their children have been homeschooled for different lengths of time except the eldest, who is presently helping to teach his own children at home.
The Pritts developed the Pennsylvania Portfolio Plus, a manual and record keeping system for Pennsylvania homeschoolers; and
Scripture Search and Scripture Search, Jr., devotional companions, in 1990, and have been distributing them through bookstores and homeschool curriculum fairs and conferences. For nearly a decade they have been featured speakers at annual homeschooling workshops conducted by Provident Bookstore in Souderton, Pennsylvania. In 2001 they began work on curriculum, producing a spelling program,
Three Words a Day, and the first in a series of biography-based unit studies,
Meet Hudson Taylor. They also produced a drama based on Taylor's life,
Joy to the World: Joy to China! which was first performed in 2001 by the youth of their church in Telford, Pennsylvania.
The Pritts are available as speakers for your homeschool events. Please contact us at
